Mrs Brown's Boys (Haha My Middle Name Is AGNES) :)

I've had a fun weekend.  :)

Yesterday, my Mum very kindly made us a lovely picnic. I drove us to Grafham Water, Cambridgeshire and we all had a fabulous family picnic by the water. It was a very hot summers day but there was a lovely breeze. It was so lovely to have BOTH of my daughters with me. Just recently it has been very difficult for us all to spend time together at the same time, this is due to work commitments/Uni commitments.  I received some lovely presents/birthday cards and it isn't officially my birthday until Tuesday. ;)

During the afternoon I lay back on the picnic rug and as I was looking up into the beautiful blue sky. There was a mini air display right above me! There were three RAF Spitfires flying directly above me. So funny as someone mentioned they were Lancaster aircraft's, but not quite. ;) One of the aircraft's left a smoke circle directly above me. It was a definite ring shape. Hmm I felt as if I had a halo above me. ;)  I had a great day. :)

Today, a friend and I popped along to The Farmers, Yaxley for a Sunday Carvery. It was very nice indeed.:) Afterwards we stopped off at the Yaxley Church and I went to see my favourite horses in the field. I often used to take my children past the same field to visit the horses when they were babies/toddler/children. They both grew up in Yaxley. We used to live right in the centre of the Yaxley village.  :)

We later went to the Woodman's Cottage for a quick drink before heading off to The Fitzwilliam's Arms. We at an enormous Chocolate eclair for dessert. :)

I don't feel in the slightest bit guilty for not sticking to my diet today, particularly as this weekend is my Birthday weekend :)  Thanks friend for my present. :)

I later went to watch Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie. The film made me chuckle. Haha my middle name is Agnes for those of you who didn't realize.  ;)

I have had a lovely weekend. :)

Indeed! I Have Only Ever Had Relationships With Men!

No! I am not gay or bi-sexual! :)

Don't you just despise all of those folk who assume you are gay because they see you out with another female, a friend?!!! I have ONLY ever had a sexual relationship with a man, but NEVER with a woman!!!

I was married for a number of years and I only had sex with my then husband for all of the years we were married.  I have never looked at a woman in a sexual manner.  I don't feel attracted to a woman in any way.  I am very feminine and I am only likely to have a sexual relationship with a man!  :)

I have dated a number of men, before and after marriage. I am currently not in a relationship with any man, however when someone sees me out with a female, just enjoying myself, why do they assume I'm gay? A woman can have female friends you know!

I went to book something earlier today and the person added myself and my friend as both being a Ms on the form.  Well I am NOT a Ms. I am a Miss and I was a Mrs when I was married.

I do not have anything against those folk who are gay or bi-sexual, it's their prerogative. I know some nice gay folk, however I am NOT gay. I never have been gay. If I were, then I would be proud to tell you and the whole world that I was because I wouldn't have anything to feel ashamed off.  Love is love.... however it's just not me, it's not in my nature. :)

My Daughter The Graduand :)

Congratulations Catherine!

A few years ago, I remember feeling extremely proud as I placed a photograph of Catherine into a photo frame. She'd just completed her Duke of Edinburgh award and I felt so proud of her.  :)

Who could really blame me for grinning from ear to ear today as Catherine announced her University grades to me!!! I wanted to jump for joy!

Catherine my daughter is a Graduand. She has just completed studying for a Bachelor of arts degree in English literature and language. I have never felt so proud!!!  I'm astounded because she could do no better! First class results from a first class daughter!!! *Tears* Overjoyed.. So happy! Well done the A-Team! :)

On Catherine's Graduation Day, there will be two extremely proud parents attending. I shall be fighting/holding back the tears however I shall be applauding my daughter for all of her hard work over the past few years. She has really worked so hard for this and she deserves it all!!

Aww thinking back to the first book I ever read to Catherine as a toddler. It was a farm yard story all about the animals and the funny noises they made! :) I was a full-time Mother for both of my children. Catherine would often enjoy me reading to her. I have such happy memories of our days together.  My, how time flies when you're having fun. ;o)

WELL DONE CATHERINE! I LOVE YOU! LOVE MUMMY XXX :)

Open Air Shakespeare Theatre at Tolethorpe :)

I recently spent a lovely evening at the Open Air Shakespeare Theatre, Tolethorpe with a friend.  It wasn't Shakespeare, however it was a fabulous Lewis Carroll play which I enjoyed immensely.

Tolethorpe Hall is a beautiful venue which has a family picnic area and also a restaurant.  Tolethorpe Hall dates back to the late11th century. The surrounding countryside of Tolethorpe hasn't changed very much in the past 1000years.

The amateur Stamford Shakespeare Company was founded in 1968 by Jean Harley and in 1971 the theatre group became independent and was named, the Stamford Shakespeare Company. The very first Shakespeare play I watched at Tolethorpe was 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.

Tolethorpe Hall was the home of three distinguished dynasties, the de Tolethorpe (1088 - 1316), the Burton (1316-1503) and the Browne (Francis) (1503 - 1839) families. Francis Browne was a Member of Parliament for Stamford in 1509 and a courtier of Henry VIII.

I'd like to also acknowledge two much loved people who are sadly missed at Tolethorpe Hall by me: The late Mr Derek Harrison and his late wife Lesley Harrison. They were both friends who lived just around the corner from my parents family home, where I grew up in Stamford. As a teenager, I often used to stop and chat to them when I walked by their home. Derek was a theatre worker, journalist, historian and author. He always had a story to tell and I was greatly saddened to hear about his death. So sad. x

The Winner - Wimbledon Finals

As usual, I sat down to watch the Men's Finals at Wimbledon on the TV this afternoon....and what a match it was too!!! :)

I am still very saddened that Andy Murray didn't get through to the finals this afternoon, but hey ho! ;)

This afternoon Novak Djokovic played Roger Federer and I must say, I was gripping onto to the edge of my seat right up until the end.  I wasn't really bothered which one of the two men won today because they are both extremely good players. There was very little in it and although I was saddened that Federer didn't win the Wimbledon's Finals, I was very pleased that Djokovic won today, mainly because I was rooting and a tooting for him.

Djokovic  came through 6-7 (7-9) 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 5-7 6-4 to win his second Wimbledon and seventh Grand Slam title.Well done him!

Of course I was very happy to sit back and relax whilst watching from home this afternoon, with a bowl full of strawberries and some lemonade.  :)

At the Centre Court, Wimbledon today there were a number of celebrities happily enjoying and watching the match. They included: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Sir Cliff Richard, David and Victoria Beckham, Bradley Cooper (aww minus his bromance with Gerard Butler), ;) Samuel L Jackson and Hugh Jackman.  Heck! It seems I missed out today. ;)

It seems all of my favourite loved ones were in London today as both of my daughters spent their time with my Sister and her family. They live in London. I'm unsure if any of them were anywhere near the crowds in Wimbledon though. ;)

Oh well! It seems like a good day was had by all. :)

Yet again, well done to Djokovic for winning today's Men's Wimbledon Finals 2014. :)

Ps

Well done to Petra Kvitova yesterday for winning the Ladies Wimbledon Finals 2014. :)

Who Do I Sound A Little Like? :)

SmileyRoseFrances x

Sarah Greene perhaps?????? :)

Someone once likened my voice to sounding a little like Sarah Greene the presenter.  I found it to be quite a compliment, particularly as I liked Sarah Greene as a presenter in the first place :)

I suppose when I'm not overworked or stressed i can sound rather chirpy sometimes. :)

Haha I am good at doing a  schoolmarmish voice sometimes or I'm good at a hurdy, gurdy gurdy hurdy voice!. When I was much younger I used to have a good party impersonation.

Here's hoping everyone has a good weekend :)

The British!!!!

Eww I do wish some British folk would stop moaning, winging and telling me how unhappy they are at being called British! They keep moaning to me re how they were born in England, therefore they only wish to be known as English!!!!  Many folk express how unsatisfied they are being categorized as British and they do not like being put into the same catagory as all of those who are not born in England!!! Stop being so insulting!!!

Duh! Are they being silly....or what?!!! :o)

If someone was born at Heathrow airport, England because their Mother went into labour during a holiday flight stop-off, but he/she went back to live in their own country and they're brought up only speaking their own language, they are happy to celebrate the culture of the country they live in and they can't speak a word of English, it certainly doesn't/shouldn't entitle them to be known as English... or even British for that matter, particularly if the person in question has no intention of ever living in Britain, or ever being part of the country! :)  They were born in England albeit at an airport, so please tell me how that makes them English?

Or, if a person was born in Cyprus during their parents RAF posting and they don't speak a word of Cypriot nor do they celebrate another culture....that doesn't make them Cypriot and they're still likely to be British. They still have every right to be part of England surely!

There are lots of folk who are born to a British parent/s and who are born outside of England, but just because they weren't born in England, it doesn't entitle them to be categorized as anything less than someone who was born in England. They all speak the English language just like you do! So please stop moaning to me about it! You are British! Live with it!!!

As far as I am concerned, you can usually tell if someone has been brought up in Britain, because they will usually speak the English language as their first/only language.... and it is not their second language. Maybe forms should ask the question, what is your first language, second language etc rather than what country were you were born in!!!  Asking what is your first language, will give someone an indication of where they come from anyway. :)

This concludes my reasons why I don't think there should be a category for just the English, when being British generalizes everyone associated with England for the reasons I have stated above.  :)

Sex And British Men!

I've just been reading a newspaper article re: Sex and British men. According to a recent survey: They are creative, confident (a bit cocky) and over half think they're brilliant in bed!

Of course I am of the opinion that if British men think they are great in bed, then it could only mean that us British women have contributed to making them who they are today, after all, British woman are fabulous in bed! On a scale of 1-10, they're a 10.  Men can only improve! ;)  It takes two to tango so to speak and British women most certainly know how to tango!;)

The survey established that over one in five British men masturbate at least once a day.  One in four have even tried bondage for the first time in the past 12 months. Half have had sex in public and a quarter have received oral sex whilst driving. Goodness gracious me!  How boastful and how very brash the British men are getting nowadays *Wonders if they are aware of the sexual diseases they can catch if/when they involve too many partners*;)

Personally speaking, I will have to go along with British men being the best in bed, not because it's true but I cannot possibly comment about how good the other nationalities are in bed if i have only ever conducted a sexual relationship with a British male/s or I've only ever dated British guys!

So I would like to conclude by saying that I reserve the right to this judgement as I have never ever dated nor have I ever been in a relationship with anyone else who is of a different nationality ;)

What an interesting survey.... and well done to the British guys.. ;o)
