Skin Tones! :)

LOL I have never used skin lightening creams on myself. I am proud of my colour, it is natural and it is not a sun tan. :)

We have brown & white skin tones in our family tree! Something to be proud off! :)

Haha there are so many folk who sit underneath sunbeds or they use tanning sprays etc. I have never needed to use either. I suppose I am quite lucky in that respect. :)

Both of my children have natural and beautiful skin tones as well. :)  It makes no difference if you're black or white, Brown or Yellow ;)

"Unbreakable" by Westlife - Our Song! My Daughters Catherine, Lauren and I :)

SmileyRoseFrances x

"Paddington" :)

Yesterday, Lauren my youngest daughter came over to stay and I cooked a traditional Christmas dinner for us after we spent the early afternoon browsing through the clothing stores. :) After dinner I mentioned to Lauren that it would be really nice if we both went to watch "Paddington" at the cinema. We could then come home and eat our pudding afterwards. She loved that idea. :)

Before setting off I had a few tears as I opened both of my daughters Christmas presents to me. They bought me something which I really wanted and I was so overwhelmed whilst I opened it :)

On our way to the cinema it started to snow,  however by the time we came out of the cinema the snow turned to rain, therefore the snow did not settle at all in this area. :)

Paddington was such a good film. It was a very funny and heartwarming film. In fact it was one of the best family films I have watched in a long time. It was just excellent. LOL just call me Paddington Bear, he was a little like me......all cute and cuddly. OK! I know I'm a female, but females can be cute and cuddly too. ;)

The film starred: Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters and Ben Whishaw.  Colin Firth was originally chosen to do the Paddington Bear voiceover, however it was thought his voice was too mature for the role. :)

After the film, we came home, we got into our jim jams, we put the front room fire on, we put the Christmas tree lights on and all of the other soft lighting, we brought Bradley Olaf Bunny to cosy up in the front room with us and we ate our pudding with a nice hot drink to warm us up. We then settled down to watch the Frozen DVD together. It was so lovely. We've both watched the film before, but it was good to watch it again...and to sing along to the songs ;)

It was so lovely having Lauren over to stay. My baby. ;o)

A good day was had by all. It was sad Catherine could not be with us as she had to work during the Christmas holidays. :( No doubt we will catch up together soon and we have chatted together on the telephone rather a lot over the Christmas period. I can't wait to see her. :) X

"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"

Happy Christmas And A Very Prosperous New Year To You All

Hi

I would just like to take this opportunity in wishing everyone I know (and those I don't know) a very happy Christmas and a very prosperous New Year.

I have had a super 2014. This year seemed to go by very quickly. I have enjoyed some memorable moments with my family and friends. The most memorable moment of the year for me, was when I attended my daughter Catherine's graduation day. When I saw her on the stage collecting her award, I couldn't help but think back to the time I first saw her in her school nativity play. Goodness! Where have the years gone! When you have children, they seem to roll by so quickly. :)

This year, my youngest daughter Lauren began University. The children are growing up so fast! :)

I enjoyed a very memorable holiday abroad in Zante. The weather and food were absolutely glorious and it was great to have a friend to share it all with. We had such good fun. :)

I was over the moon when my good friend from Cyprus, along with her family, were able to meet up with my daughter and I in England. We've been friends for what seems like a lifetime. It's always good to meet old friends. :)

I've spent many happy occasions with my family members and friends over the past year.  I feel truly blessed. Thank you to all who have been there for me. You know who you are. I'd like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. X

Earlier this year, I sadly lost my beloved pet cockatiel Rosie. She will be sadly missed by me.

Earlier this month I added a new addition to my family.  I now have a pet bunny named Bradley.  He is still only a few weeks old, however he is much loved. :)

Let's take a moment to remember what Christmas is really all about and it is not just about tinsel and the opening of presents. Let's take the time to remember our faith and Jesus and how this one man from so long ago, taught us how to love, respect, forgive each other and to live our lives with compassion. He did this through his teachings and prayers. Let's take a moment to remember how a long time ago, a child was born in Bethlehem. His name was Jesus.

Finally, let's hope 2015 brings us all good health and happiness.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas.

With much love

We Are Who We Are!!!

Recently whilst someone was chatting to me, they very innocently referred to me as a Spanish lady!  I suppose it was meant in the nicest possible taste and It was quite a compliment, particularly as I consider many Spanish ladies can look very lovely. However, the way I look and who I actually am, couldn't be much further away from the truth. :)

I am indeed a British citizen who can only speak the English language. I am proud of this fact. Let's face it, Britain is a country whereby many folk from lands afar want to live/make their permenant residence in. Therefore why shouldn't I be proud of the country I have grown up in....and be proud of our language too. English is indeed a language many want to learn to speak. :)

I think you can tell a lot about someone by asking what their Mother tongue is/Native language is before you go assuming they are from another country.

The language I speak, when speaking to my family members and friends, is indeed English. Unlike many foreigners these days who can speak as many as 4/5 different languages, I'm ashamed to say, I cannot speak any other languages other than English. :)

When I attended school, I did indeed learn a little school girl French, however much of this has been forgotten as I gave up learning the language when I was in the third year at Secondary school.  :)

I think a person can look like they come from another country, they can be born in another country too, however English can still be their first and in many cases, their only language.

So to sum it all up, let's not assume someone does not speak the English language fluently, because they may not look British. Let's not assume they don't speak the language fluently because they were born in another country. Let's not assume they are not proud of the country they have grown up in, even if they were born abroad!!! Let's not assume they don't hold a high regard for the country they were born in, even if they've not visited it since they were 5 months old. We are who we are. ;)

A Whole New World

Aladdin :)

I had great fun last night. I went to watch 'Aladdin' at The Cresset, Bretton with a friend. We were like a pair of kids. I loved shouting out and doing the wriggly worm song. Loved the Panto. I loved being entertained by a great cast. Loved Widow Twanky, Wishy Washy and Aladdin the best......and the female slave had a good voice. They did make me laugh. Afterwards we went into town for a Greek meal at the Salami's Restaurant, Peteroborough. I enjoyed taramasalata, moussaka and baklava for my dinner, along with the lovely greek music. LOL it reminded me of our holiday in Zante in Septemeber. Such fun. We later caught a taxi home, as I don't like to drink and drive.:)

The Pussycat Dolls feat A.R. Rahman - Jai Ho ( TRUE HD )

SmileyRoseFrances x

I like this song because it's from the film Slumdog Millionaire.....and of course some of my roots are indeed from India.....and not Pakistan. There is a difference! I'm proud of my roots. :)

I would love to visit one day. I was only 5 months old when I last visited. Far too young to remember. I'd like to see the Taj Mahal and a few other of India's exotic charms. Apparently, my father mentioned there was a very picuresque place up in a hilly area. It is an area the British love when they visit and there is a beautiful hotel there. I saw some photos when my sister and father visited a few years ago. It looked beautiful.

To All Of Those We've Loved And Lost.....Taking A Moment To Remember Them!

Let's take a moment to remember all of those we've loved and lost this Christmas x

A Christmas Wish To My Friends

A quick message to all of my friends. :)

Goodness! If you don't know who you are, then I hope this helps :)

I was asked to define friendship not so long ago.  It wasn't an easy task for me, as friendship covers so much.  I attempted to define friendship in my own little way. So here goes! :)

I would say that I have had a number of friends over the years. :) So,  who would I consider  my friend/s? I consider my friends are all of those folk I have never fallen out with, I have no reason to fall out with and all of those I have still remained friends/in contact with over the years.  Basically, if I know your address/ phone number/contact details etc and we haven't been in contact with each other for the past few years, then we've either fallen out or we were never really friends to begin with. The only exception to this rule is, if I have called you a friend previously, however we've lost contact details/we've never exchanged details or if there is another good reason why we're not in contact.

Friendship to me is  all about trusting someone and forming a close mutual relationship together. Being around for someone when they need you. Listening to them when they have the odd rant now and again. Showing a caring concern for someone if you know they're having a bad patch in their lives. Showing someone an act of friendliness. Yes! You can love a close friend, there's no harm in loving someone you feel a close connection to. You don't have to be registered to Facebook to be a friend either. ;)

So, here's a simple message sent to all of my friends. This little greeting goes to you all. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and i wish you all a prosperous new year, whatever your circumstance, I wish you all a cheery greeting from me, to you. :)

The Menopause!

I hope this is helpful to all of those of you who are currently experiencing Menopausal symptoms.. Both men and women experience the menopause. Although it is usual for a woman to experience the menopause in her 50's, it isn't unusual for a woman to experience the menopause much earlier in years. In very rare cases, in her 20's even.

It is usual for a man to go through the menopause in his late 40's to 50's. After the age 30, the average man's testosterone level declines 1 percent each year.

The menopause is often referred to as 'The Change' or the 'Midlife Crisis'
