"The Man From U.N.C.L.E" :)

I went to watch "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" recently.

I really enjoyed the film. It was quite different to the usual Hugh Grant films I have watched in the past, but it was still most enjoyable. :)

The film starred Henry Cavill, Arnie Hammer, Alicia Vikander and Hugh Grant. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie and it is based on the 1960's TV series of the same title.   Genre - Comedy Spy film.

The film tells the story of  Napoleon Solo, who is a professional thief /CIA agent and Illya Kuryakin. They reluctanty team up together and they are assigned to stop Vinciguerras building his own private nuclear weapon. They are requested to steal Udo Teller's research in order to stop him destroying the world.

I don't really remember too much about the TV series, as I was rather young at the time. :)

There were a few funny moments in the film and the two agents seem to work well together because they both specialised and trained with slightly different skills.

Now that was a surprise, right at the end. Now who would have thought  that :) .

My Code -The Letter "F" :)

It's not everyday you go all the way to America and you see the initial  'F' for Frances placed on the top of the building opposite you. It was written in neon lights, within a four leaf clover!

THIS was the view from my hotel room window during my stay in Vegas.

IMF. I mean I am F. ;)

"Dr Who" :)

I am really looking forward to watching the new Dr Who series.  It stars Peter Capoldi as Dr Who and Jenna Coleman as his glamorous companion Clara. :)

One of my earliest memories was hiding behind the sofa when the daleks came on ;) So scary!

David Tennant was a favourite Doctor Who ;)

"Mission Impossible" - Rogue Nation :) :)

I recently went to watch the Tom Cruise movie, "Mission Impossible" - Rogue Nation. :)

I really loved the film! :)

For those of you who have not been to see the film yet, it was action packed from start to finish.

Ethan Hunt aka Tom Cruise, joins forces with actress Rebecca Ferguson, who is a British agent, but who he thinks maybe part of the rogue nation.  It's an international rogue organisation. They are all highly trained and their one aim is to destroy the IMF. LOL yes I am F (as in I am Frances)...and yes, I have met a few rogues in my time. ;)

I've loved all of Tom Cruise's 'Mission Impossible' films so far and this one is no exception to the rule, in fact this was probably the best one yet.....or is the best yet to come?!  Could there be another 'Mission Impossible' film in the pipeline?  I wonder! ;)

Unbelieveable! I've just read the Foreign Box Office news and  Mission Impossible' Rogue Nation opened to a staggering amount, $86m, in China!

The film was directed by Christopher McQuarrie. It is Film No.5  in the Mission Impossible series. The film starred the fabulous Tom Cruise, fantastic Simon Pegg, jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson and Alec Baldwin.   I really enjoyed Simon Pegg's role, as Benji. It really suited him! ;)

The start of the film was just fabulous. It was an action scene which begins with Tom Cruise running and hanging on for dear life to the side of an Airbus A400M Atlas. This was actually filmed at RAF Wittering, just 5/6 miles away from where I live! :)  No!  I did not see Mr Cruise when he came to film in the area. A great pity as I would have liked to have had a coffee with him. ;)

Other favourite action scenes: The motorbike chase scene and the underwater scene. Wow! I loved it.  Looking forward to watching the 6th film.....if of course there is one.

Oh well!  I'm signing off now.

I am 'F' :o)

"The Elephant Man" - Bradley Cooper

Wednesday 29th July

My day began like any other day.  The alarm went off early and as I leaned over to switch it off, I realized today wasn't going to be an ordinary groundhog day. ;)  Today is my birthday. Wednesday 29th July. I'd been waiting for this day to arrive, for today is the day I go to london to see the long awaited play "The Elephant Man" by Bernard Pomerance. It starred Bradley Cooper, Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola and it was directed by Scott Ellis.  The show venue was at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

It was the first time I have ever visited the theatre which was build in 1720 by John Potter. It cost just £1500. A truly beautiful theatre.  :)

I was thrilled to bits when i managed to purchase my ticket as I felt quite down that the show was in New York and I never thought in a million years that I would ever get to see it! Both of my daughters and my ex had spent a week in New York and I rember feeling quite jealous that they were there during the time "The Elephant Man" was showing.  However they did not see the show, as they're not huge fans of Bradley Cooper....not like me. ;)  I admire his acting.ability.  He's a very good and versatile actor and I admire his work. I am so glad to say, he, or the cast, did not disappoint me on my birthday. The play was very moving and I cried!!! ;)

My friend Anita arrived in the morning and we both made our way to the Peterborough railway station, where we caught the train to London for the day. It was a pleasant journey. LOL the journey seemed to go so quickly, as we'd both chatted for the entire journey to London. It is roughly about a 50 minutes journey. :)

We enjoyed ourselves browsing through the streets of London.  We both ended up sitting in a little restaurant in Soho, called the Jackson & Rye. It was very pleasant.  We ate steak and frys with wine. I enjoyed a very nice cheese cake afterwards.

I felt rather relaxed as I chatted away to the gentleman sitting next to me.  He was visiting the UK from Australia. He told us how much he'd enjoyed his visit to England. :)

We eventually made our way to the theatre, however we arrived about an hour eary.  We decided to pop up the road for a cocktail before making our way back to the theatre.

I was seated in the Royal Circle, row A, Seat 29 for my birth date of the 29th!  Not bad at all.  I had an extremely good view of the stage....and Bradley Cooper. Not only did i have a good view of Bradley Cooper, there was another suprise guest at the event. Surprise, surprise, it was Brad Pitt, who sat just below me in the theatre  I had a good view of Brad Pitt too. ;)

I remember watching the film "The Elephant Man" a number of years ago. It starred the fabulous actor John Hurt. It tells the story of John Merrick who was an Englishman from Leicester The story.

After the show ended, Anita and I went to the back of the theatre in order to catch a glimpse of Bradley Cooper.  I was a bit disappointed as i managed to get a really blurry picture of him!  LOL ah but i have my good memories.  I stood about 8 inches away from him. ;)

All in all I had a super day and a tiring journey home. I actually fell into bed when I reached home. :D

So Sad! :(

I was so saddened to hear the news about television presenter and singer Cilla Black passing away. RIP Cilla Black.

Cilla had been on the television ever since I was a little girl. She was a well known face in our household. She will be sadly missed by me. My thoughts and prayers are with her family x :(
